Operations Manager - Telecoms/Infrastructure Industry

Roles & Responsibilities

Asset Management

  • Oversee all operational aspects of telecoms infrastructure management to maximise long-term asset value and ensure optimal life-cycle asset management.
  • Define and implement asset-specific investment and maintenance plans, ensuring alignment to the overall business strategy.
  • Ensures long-term thinking and considered decision-making are at the heart of the approach and execution of our asset management strategy.
  • Responsible for forecasting, tracking and management of opex and capex budgets, ensuring efficient deployment of resources and capex at all times.
  • Ensure optimal deployment of capex to increase asset value and implement asset management strategy and life-cycle management policy.
  • Responsible for operational procurement, capital budgeting, financial forecasting, and contractor management.

Operations

  • Leading & mentoring the Operations team; promoting accountability whilst inspiring and motivating.
  • Provide regular, accurate reports on Operations activities.
  • Develop plans & implement business strategies and decisions.
  • Responsible for preparing, monitoring and reporting on departmental budgets.
  • Act as the escalation point for the team and work with them to resolve issues, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Identifying and implementing process enhancements, innovations to improve delivery, continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute business strategies that align with both short- and long-term company objectives, ensuring sustainable growth.
  • Regularly monitor performance metrics, ensuring KPIs are met, implement corrective actions when necessary, and provide detailed updates and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring trust and long-term collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering or business degree; and 3-5 years experience in leadership role, preferably within the telecommunications, infrastructure or construction sectors.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and organisation & coordinating resources to meet business deadlines.
  • Aptitude for analysis, prioritisation and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Communicates complex/technical matters clearly and concisely.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to approach business challenges creatively and practically.
  • Confident in making decisions, communicating effectively with the team, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to delivery and overcoming obstacles.
  • Ability to delegate effectively while ensuring managers are accountable and supported in their decision-making.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular word, excel, outlook and powerpoint.
  • This is a hybrid role, which also requires travel to sites and for client / other external meetings.
